Check for a broken or tire rubbed wire inside the fender. Had it happen on my 04, one of the retainer clips had broken off insise the fender.

Check where it plugs in up behind the passing lamps behind the fairing.

Wire rubbed by tire on left side of front fender. You'll have to splice a new wire into the set up to fix. When it happened to me, the wire popped out of the retainer clip. I replaced the clip along with the wire. Front wheel has to come off to make this repair doable.
