Default decals on tank

Does anyone know if the tank decals(stickers) on the tank are applied after the clearcoat.

you can tell by touching them with your fingers that they're under the clearcoat.

Default Yes, the decals are added before the clear coat

Makes it hard to change to a different emblem. It's odd why the MOCO has decals for emblems on some bikes but plates for others.

I noticed that on the baggers seems the Limited has the plates and the others have the decals.

I just bought a secondhand 09 RG tank to fit on my old Glide and the finish is excellent, with the decals coated over. I'm going to have to seriously improve the appearance of the rest of my paintwork to match up to it!
