I was talking to a indy mechanic 2 weeks ago about bikes and things. I asked him about transmission oil and the clunk when placing in 1st gear. He's been working on them for 42 yrs, he used to build and run a prodrag program. He said he prefers belray in the transmission but the redline is good also. He says the clunk will be there pretty much no matter what because of the design of the clutchplates. He also said they were a gm product design and said I should use dexron atf in the primary. He recommends amsoil 60 for the engine year round. He started out working for a dealership and said they are just makin money on their formula+. I have read here at other times where some are using the atf in the primary. I will give it a try when I change it next. They guy had over 140,000 miles on his ultra so it can't be too bad. That's my tidbit.

if your dealer charges that much for syn3, he is definitely ripping you off. msrp is $10.49.
