I am thinking about a reach seat and according to harley somewhere in the 2010 model run they dropped the seat 1" and all 2011 are that way. Does anyone know when they changed, my bike was built in feburary of 2010. Thanks

 

You must mean that Harley drop the overall height on the Street Glides. I have not hear anything about the seats being dropped on Tourers.

I bought a Harley reach seat for my 2010 SG and it will diffidently put your feet down on the ground. The only problem I had with it was that it moved me too far forward for my liking. I now have the reach seat on eBay. Nice seat and it will get you closer to the ground. Just didn't work overall for me. Also, the wife loved it over the stock seat.

 

just need a tad closer too, either a seat or bars. pictures of the reach seat look like it may be uncomfortable on a longer ride.

 

Sometime around February 2010 they introduced a lower seat on the electra glides at least.

I bought a new 2009 and after trying the seats, I put on one of the lower seats. It made a big difference for me and I find it very comfortable.

You can tell the low seats because the seat seam runs from front to back and up the backrest part of the seat. It's also labeled "low" on the bottom of the seat.

on the higher seat the seam runs front to back until it gets to the backrest part and then it goes across.

 

The 2011 seat is lower than the 2010's (but thought I have seen on the forum here that some 2010's in later production got the lower seat?)

I just Put a reach seat on my 2010 ultra but don't like it.It don,t have enough room to set comfertable it gos up at front and is rough on your berrys if you know what I mean.I rode 250 miles sun.and had sore butt when I got home.
