Default Big Guy Seats

Hey guys,

I'm looking to get an idea of what some of the larger guys on this forum use for seats on their touring bikes.

I've got an '09 EGC and am looking for a new seat. I'm 6'0, inseam challenged at 32" and weigh in at 330. I also have chronic lower back issues to contend with, but that's a daily thing and I manage. I've GOT to ride.

The stock seat sucks. I've had experience with a 2 piece Mustang didn't care for it. I have also tried the 1 piece Mustang tourer. It was definitely better but I still don't think that would be it, but I'm not sure as that was on my '05 EGC.

My wife has a Sundowner on her Heritage and that's pretty good, but still I don't think would be "it" for all day comfort for me.

I'm currently considering the following:

Mustang 1 piece touring
HD Road Zepplin
Saddlemen Road Sofa

I've also looked into the Russell Day Long and would love to try it, but I can't spend $1k on a seat. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to try one, but it's just not in the finances at this time.

So, let's hear what other bigger guys are using.

Thanks!

I'm 6-1, 280 and my stock Roadking saddle does the job for me. Ya might want to think about going on a diet. Im not being a dick. I know from experience that once your in the 325-350 range the back is going to be a problem. The weight does lots of bad things to you. Just sayin'.

I'm 6'3", 265. I've tried about everything on various bikes, Mustang, Tallboy, Tallboy with memory foam and gel pad mod, Corbin, etc.

The Corbin was the most comfortable out of all of the above, but I still got butt pain after 400 miles. Finally bit the bullet and bought a Russell. Absolutely the BEST seat by far! Just got back from riding 3400 miles in 7 days. No butt pain at all. Wish I would have bought one of these years ago. But you are right, they are not cheap.

I still have a custom made Corbin Tallboy seat for sale at a great deal if anyone's interested.

Buddy I ride with swears by his road sofa('06 RK), I have ridden it and must say it is a comfortable seat but I have not had the chance to go distance. He is 5'11" and at 340lbs; me I am 6'2" 280 with a 32" inseam.

6'6", 300lbs, 34" inseam....stock sucks, La Pera fastback sucks, Corbin Classic solo sucks. Of those 3 the wife thought the Corbin pillion was the best. So for my fourth seat I went down to C&C (I'm local to them) and had them custom shape me a Sport Tour. Moved it about 2" back, flattened it out a bit, no gel or anything. The wife and I agree....this is the best by far! We are both very comfortable, but the longest day so far is only like 225 miles or so. But I can say that after 225 I'm not hurtin like I was on the others. I don't forsee any issues putting more on it in a day.
