Axtell also has big bore kits, and can machine your cases and heads.

Well since your going to put money into a kit to go past the 98" and have to move to a bigger crank you may as well buy a crate engine in the size you want. The cost will be pretty close to the same after it is said and done.

If you just more go I would stay 113 or under. Anything over a 113 you need a track to use it all. I have the mild HQ107ST and still don't use it's full potential but the torque is very nice to have on the highway riding 2up.
S&S hsa the new T111 on sale for around 5500 rady to go, carb, gear drive cams, etc.

check it out.
Just run some numbers and you may save time and money with a crate. good luck

companies with kits. GMR, Hillside, Tman, Headquarters(go to protwin.com), and many more but thats a few.

Hogchief, you haven't chimed in much since you started this thread. Are you even interested in splitting/boring your cases? Or a crate motor???
If not - the motor heads in here can give you the advice you need to just keep your lower end stock and still get a great running "98".

I have a 1999 Road King with the MM fuel injection. Are crate motors an option for us with older FI, or is it just too costly to bypass?

Yes you can get a crate for fuel injections. Just will cost more than one with carb. You can buy a new crate motor thru the moco. Talk o your local dealer about they're reman engine program. May be something you can do this winter.

I'd say that's a winner right there.
I've been thinking about it myself.

[QUOTE=Harleypingman;7164827]In reply to the original post, vendors of excellent 107 kits include: Head-Quarters and GMR.

You will need to split the cases to install a 4 3/8" crank for a 107, or a 4 5/8" crank for a 120.

You don't need to change the crank for a 107 build. The stock 88" 4.000 crank will work with a 4.125 bore.

Guys, thanks for all the very good info....looks like lots of options out there.. Talked to the guy where I am going to have the work done, first thing out of his mouth, was go with S/S, reputable, back their product etc. Also talked with another friend of mine who has the same type bike and did some more research along with you all posted... Looks like I may be leaning towards going to 97ci, replace heads/piston with S/S 97, change out the cam to gear driven cam, either S/S or someone else, most likely Sampson True duals and some carb work... I think that will give me the power and torque I am looking for...I really appreciate the post, gave me a lot of areas to research....good info from all
