Would it be appropriate to ask someone from the forum, in my local area, to go with me an give me their opinion of a used bike? I'm not looking to assign any liability but I don't know anything about them and figured someone with experience could just give an opinion.

I'm sure there are typical issues to look for but wouldn't even know what they are.

 

Wouildn't hurt to ask but if you show your lacation and shops you're planning to visit you'll probably get more input.

 

Actually a good idea so you get a more informed decision.

 

You could also post the specific year you are looking at if you have one in particular you are looking at so posters can tell you of any known problems condusive to that year model.

 

 

More eyes, and an extra person to help you absorb the 'pressure' to buy...

year would help, as each year or sometimes 2 years has had problems that you need to be aware of... injectors, fuel pump brackets, etc etc etc.
