Default 2010 StreetGlide DIED on me HELP

Hey sorry for the long read but I really need some help!!!

I was riding back from the big Canadian biker bash Friday the 13th in Port Dover and half way home my 2010 StreetGlide starting acting up.

A little info on the bike it's a 2010 StretGlide with a K&N airfilter with the Screaming Eagle bolt on muffler. I also added the hogtunes replacement speakers along with amp and tweeter pod.

So on the way home my radio turned off, I looked up and and saw that my volt meter was at 0. The volt meter then went back up, the same thing happened again. This time I noticed the ABS light had come on and was flishing. This continued and the dash lights started to dim and blink and as I rode on the bike started to "jolt" forward as if the bike was shut off then back on. And inbetween all this there would be peroids of time where it was fine.

When I got home I shut the bike down, and turned it to ACCES and tried the stereo and it worked like normal, so I turned it to run and the fuel pump primed but made a bit of a funny noise. When I hit the start button there was a "tick" then nothing and by nothing I mean no running lights no dash light no nothing.

I didn't kmow what to do so i checked the battery voltage and it was good, I "wiggled" the power wired and the alarm lights flashed, so i turned the ignition on and the alarm started going off and still no power to anything on the bike.

Please any ideas are greatly appricated.

Kyle

Sounds like you lost the stator or regulator and killed the battery. No biggie, warranty will fix you right up!

I would check your ground cable on the battery.

+1. Check the simple things first but if it's anything more than a loose connection, let the warranty take care of it.

Sounds like the ground is loose where it connects to the frame. I have a 2010 UC, just chased an electrical gremlin, the wires chaffed in the tour pack for my running lights. Took a little while to chase back to there, but found it. I also found both battery terminals loose when I did my 1000 mile service.

Hey thanks for the help, after I slept on it and calmed myself I looked at the bike again and I double checked the battery terminals again and they were as tight as i could possible get them. I for some reason just grabbed the cables and gave them a shke and the positive didnt move but the negative was super lose. I check the terminal again and it was real tight, so i ended up taking the screw and nut out replaced it and tightened it back up and all was well in the world again. I dono how the wires came lose while the terminal didnt losen but like i said it works now.

just wanted to keep everyone in the loop. And thanks again for the imput guys.

Ride safe

Kyle
