You can get a set of Andrews cams with gears and install kit for about $535 online. Then you will have to pay probably about 3-4 hours labor to have them installed.......or do it yourself.

Gear drive cams eliminate the chain that stretches, wears, and allows the actual cam timing to wander a bit. Gear drives, while they may make a little noise, do not wear, the cam timing is always the same, and they actually add a tad of power just in making up for frictional loss and sloppy timing. The gear unit costs a bit more, but some think it is worth the extra cost.

I paid 450.00 for my S&S 510G gear drive cams on the internet. Do some shopping and save a buck or two.

I don't know exactly what Andrews did, but the newer S&S gear drives are way better & don't make much noise at all.

nogood, you forgot to mention about the tensioner shoes wearing & the possibility of the cam chains getting loose & wreaking havoc inside the cam chest. No doubt that gear drive is the better option for me, less to worry about = more peace of mind. To each his own.
