Default Riding from us to canada or other way around??

Since harley only comes with 1 set of numbers on the speedo what do you do when going from a km/h country to a mp/h country?

Can always just do the "well 65mph is about 105km/h so i should be ok" but is there some method to get the speedo to change?

I guess a gps could tell you too.

Thx

Just continuously do (MPH x .62) and you'll be fine.

Sorry, could not resist. Hopefully someone will really help with the question.

Or, you can set most GPS's to read in either MPH or KMH.

You could get an UK speedometer which displays mph and kmh. Or easy calculation

50 mph = 80 kmh; +/- 10 mph = +/- 16 kmh, easy to remember

I did it last year, switched my gps over to kmh, but I just used 60% as the multiplier. 90 km is about 54mph, a 40 kmh turn is about 24mph. It gave my mind something to do while driving thru canada

Speed limit of 100kmh is about 62mph, but the RCMP won't bother you if your doing 110-115 (65-70mph). Just flow with the traffic on the highways, you will be ok, watch out in the Cities, they enforce more closely.

Lived here in the US for the last 13 years and still convert mph to km in my head.

Now depending on where in Canada you are driving the conversion can be different.

100kph should be 62 mph. But if you are driving on the 401 between London and Oshawa it is actually anywhere from 75 to 100mph. I gave up trying to follow a group a year or so back when they were still pulling away at 100mph.

Would you have to pay duty for the unused MPH you are bringing back? How could you explain where they went while you were up there.
