We have an 08 and 07 RKC's. That is the FIRST time I have ever read that statement. Right on!

OP.....I would go with a sweet low mileage 09. Should have a lot more cash left to do bags and other personal tweaks plus you will probably buy some upgrades already on it for "cheap" in the price.

We just bought the wife's King earlier this year with 1365 miles on an 07 and when I add up the chrome goodies previous owner put on it floors me. Just my

ABS has been an option on all the FLHs since '08.

About the 5th gear whine, it lessens as the miles rack up. I can't even hear it on mine anymore.

Fire wow. Looks great in sun never seen that combo enjoy

James....I'm dense are u saying good or bad to be like blues bros....love your rkc

Just curious as to opinions... When the 2010s came out many still preferred the 09s cause of the cat added to 2010. Don't remember sixth gear being issue.

Doesn't seem to much buzz.

Thx

I don't know were you live but my Indy has a customer who ran into some bad luck. He has a 09 SG with 6000 on it and wants 15K.

Here is my 09 RK standard with ABS, cruise, security. Bought this one just over a year ago and so far have 12000 trouble free miles. Rides like a dream and have been averageing 45 miles to the gallon. 103 upgrade is on the mod list, even though the 96 is doing a good job so far. I thought ABS was an option for all 09 RK's standard or classic, could be wrong. Good luck in your search.

Damn right, and don't forget the 30+ pounds less weight, a better ride, and to me - a more aesthetically pleasing (on the classic) matching sized rear...though I did ride the '09 and yes they're tighter handlers fer sure!

I know you are looking at RKC but I'm hoping to get a 2011 RK in Sedona Orange when I get back from the sand. I was also looking at 09 used RK's but the difference in price was minimal at best but then again I am getting some really aggressive pricing through military sales....I have written a few local dealers to see if they could match or at least come close to the price I am being quoted for the '11.

As someone else said, the '10 and up have the cat in the header pipe and as you have read here that is an issue for a few folks due to the added heat generated by it. I plan on riding for a while with it to judge for myself but you may be looking at replacing the header pipes if you go with the 2011.

The RK I'm looking at has cruise, security and ABS and I just love the Sedona Orange to boot. I was thinking of a 2010 but the pricing through military sales is exactly the same for a 2011...they don't discount pricing until 6 months after the new model year.

Good luck on whatever you decide!

Dawg...

actually want a FLHR but the 2011 FLHRC seemed to include a lot of features;

I love the FLHR Sedona Orange. Great color! I'm glad they offer military deals. You deserve it! Thanks. Enjoy the ride!
