Default She is going on a diet!!!

I am super stoked. My 1990 FLHTCU Fat lady is going on a diet.

I am removing the trunk and installing a factory luggage rack and a Corbin Sissy Bar and pad, removing the Tour Pack front pods, removing the CB, Intercom, Antenna, rear amplifier and installing a cover plate where the CB was. I'll post before and after pics once all the parts come in and I do all the work. I am stoked to do it. I think its gonna look really good. My wife is on board with it too once I told her about the nice Corbin back rest.

No pics yet because my luggage rack and sissy bar haven't arrived yet but I took the skinny lady out for a ride on Sunday. I removed the front lower tour pack pods, the tour pack trunk, the CB/Intercom and the wiring for it. What a difference!! The bike feels like a flickable scooter now. I am loving the way it looks a rides so far. Removing the front tour pack lowers allows me to stretch my legs out a little and the air rushing up from the front feels great. I don't feel so enclosed anymore and the bike is no longer top heavy or lumbering. I was surprised to see how heavy that rear trunk is! There is alot of nice chrome under there too. The only thing that is a little wierd is the large steel plate that goes across the rear fender struts and bends down where the license plate is bolted to it.
The luggage rack bolts to it. It would look nicer if that large plate wasn't there but there is no way to bolt the luggage rack/sissy bar on without it. The fender struts only have 2 holes in them and they don't extend far enough back to bolt the luggage rack on correctly. To give you an idea, my bike now looks just like a FLTHP police bike. They have the same large plate on the back. I think the police mount a radio or lights or something on it. Anyway.. I am loving the way the bike feels and I will post before and after pics as soon as the other parts arrive.

Default Before and After pics as promised

Before

After

She handles so much better. I also love having the wind hitting me. Especially with the front pods removed. I do miss the trunk but I don't miss how heavy it felt. I am whipping my Electraglide around like a Sportster now!
