sounds silly: non-leather chaps?

RE: sounds silly: non-leather chaps?
I can recommend the Harley FXRG jacket (nylon) without hesitation.
I've had a bunch of jackets and this is my favorite.

The kidney belt is a neat touch which can be removed , but I use it all the time.
For warm weather I use the Vanson ventmax 3.(bones )

The FXRG I use from 20 degrees to about 75 degrees and the Vanson from 75 degrees and up.
Body armour in both (can't see the leather in the Vanson) soft in the FXRG ,semi hard in the Vanson.
Will be checking out the FXRG pants soon,I'm sure their great also.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. But no, this is not a joke. Just because someone has a different view than you doesn't mean anything. Next time, you might consider that it's my wife you are being flippant toward, and she likes to ride, just like you like to ride. So what difference does it make what she wants or does not want to wear? Grow up.

Anybody that makes custom chaps can make a pair out of synthetic material as easy as leather. I used to do a lot of leather work and made western chaps. I made a pair for a rich bird hunter out of a convertible car top years ago. They were waterproof, windproof and tuff as hell. They only problem was they were expensive as hell. If yheir is a western store or tack shop in your area, you might check with them. Many of the ladies show chaps are made of fake leather.

We stopped in a biker leather shop in Chimney Rock, NC this weekend just killing time. They had a rack full of chaps made from denim. They won't offer the same protection as leather but it is another layer between you and the road. I don't remember the name of the shop, sorry.

Yeh, I had thought about denim. I would like to get her the real good advanced nylon stuff, but she refuses to spend that much money. There is a link that I got from here that has denim backed by kevlar, so I may give that a shot.
Thanks again for all the suggestions.
