Look at the bottom of page 1-15 in your 2009 Touring Service Manual and tell me what it says.
Yep it says initially add 3.5 qts....Now turn the page and read step 10 a b and c.....Or perhaps go to page 2-7 in the same manual and go to table 2-3...capacities...Oil tank with filter...4qts....Trans aprox. 1 qt....Primary 1.4 qts....That is straight out of the service manual...Personally I don't give a snit if you put any oil in your bike...I just think you are giving incorrect information to someone that was asking a simple question.

Notgrownup - I live 1/2 hour from the Sleeman brewery in Ontario. Nice place to visit, because it's also just up the road from the best ripper joint in the area - The Manor.

I should be back down to the Dragon in October - I'll see what I can do!

Cannon

Ps - sorry, no heated grips on either of my bikes!

I've never got more than 3.5 qts to full with oil and filter change and I even have oil cooler. It probably holds 4 qts, but you never get it all out during an oil change. I blow some out the air cleaner when I even add 3.5

Nope but I check them on the side stand after I service them before I test ride them and then once again after a 10 mile test ride.
