Question Military Sales...

In any event I have been going back and forth in my mind between the SG and the RK and I think the RK has won out. My VTX is setup very similar to a RK and I really like that look, style and flexibilty.

Being in the military they have a service run through Aafees that discounts a new HD if you purchase it while on a 30 day or longer deployment overseas so I am taking a hard look at that.

This is how my pricing would break down I believe:

2011 Road King 15,833.00
5 Year/ unlimited mileage Extended Service Plan 390.00
HD Factory Security System and ABS 1087.00
Cruise Control 268.00

Now they also are quoting a 380.00 Freight Charge which I guess I can understand but also a 479.00 Delivery Point Processing Service??? Not quite sure what that is all about...I wrote an email questioning that and also if the freight charge is negotiable.

Delivery would not be until December as well...not a huge deal as I'm not scheduled to come home until late fall anyways...not sure why that is on delivery date but maybe something the military has worked out with HD and their dealers

So I could have a 2011 Road King Sedona Orange for 17,578 or 18,437 if I have to pay the extra freight and shipping fees

Does it sound like I could do any better through a dealer?

Also I know this applies to a small segment here but anyone who reads this post and has purchased through the military...did you end up paying freight and destination fees of 859 dollars? Seems excessive

Thanks

Dawg
if you are buying through mlitary sales, the shipping price is set, but depends on where you are having it delivered stateside. I ordered mine at Al Udeid and had it delivered to Fort Walton HD. Shipping was around $325-ish. But, it's probably the BEST deal you will get on an HD, so take advantage of it.

Where are you stationed at?

Question No Sales Tax?

I think you meant...No Income tax. There is sales tax on goods in FL...at least where I live (Panama City) there sure is.

If you want ABS you need to also purchase the security system as well on 2011's

So you had to pay the 380.00 freight which I guess is standard but then 325 on top of that? I guess that is still better than 479..maybe it is what state being delivered to? Did you get any extended warranty plan at at what price if you did?

Believe it or not opsec/comsec prevents me from saying where I am right now. Lots of brown terrain is all I can say lol

....no offense BUT...if you believed you lived in a "no sales tax state" at the time you were buying your bike...and then they charged you sales tax...why the heck did you pay it without questioning it???

My local HD dealer is about 5 minutes from my house. I had emailed them this morning and asked if they could meet or beat ENCS. (I didn't include any prices, I just wanted to see if they would respond one way or another)

He acknowledged that the military pricing is a great deal but wanted to see the OTD price as the Sales Manager is a Vietnam vet and would like to see if he could help me out. I broke down the pricing for him just like I did here with no BS or crazy absurd quotes and am waiting for a response. If he can come close I might go with him because of the location and also the ability to get the bike before the snow starts in NH

Hoping I can work a deal
