Default aftermarket exhaust street glide

Is it necessary to install a racetuner or VH fuel pack if all you change is the exhaust. Can i run the stock airfilter and keep the stock fuel settings? The bike Im talking about is the 2010 street glide

If your only going to put on an aftermarket slip-on, you'll be fine with no tuner. But if you go to an aftermarket header pipe, or go to a dual set-up, you'll probably want a tuner. You didn't detail what "exhaust set-up" you are considering.

the vance and hines 2 into 1. I want to remove the cats so replacing the whole exhaust system is required. I know on my sport bike installing a full exhaust i did not need to install a tuner unless i changed the air filter. I know it would make more HP if I did but HP is not what Im after on the Harley. I want it to run cooler and sound better. Your bike is the setup I want. I also have a 2008 hayabusa.

I just went through a similar exercise focused upon the same thing, less heat. Mine included SEAC though and the conclusion I reached was "probably". Maybe you're on a better track though. Leaving the stock AC might restrict air-flow enough to change "probably will need" into "probably not". Let's hope so.

I honestly don't think anything will cool down the 2010s with 2 into 1 except what you propose, a new exhaust (no CAT) or at least gut the CAT out of the stocker.

I would also put a AC on if cooler is what you are looking for i did the slip ons only at one time and it didn't really cool down that much, but after i put a SEAC and pcV with auto tune now were talking much cooler now that more fuel added, just my 2 cents but i would do it all.

I'd do the tuner and air cleaner . But that's just an opinion . Why buy a new bike and not do it right ?

I thought that a MOCO SEAC, MOCO SE Nightstick, and MOCO Stage 1 flash, all done prior to delivery, was doing it right. Well.... not true.

Now I know why a chrome muff is called a Nightstick - almost black (real dark blue) at the front of the muff and a dark blue ring all around the exit. Happened prior to 1000 miler too.
