Default Yosemite Ride

Our H.O.G. chapter went on a overnighter from Reno to Yosemite and on to Jamestown. I hadn't been into Yosemite for a lot of years and had forgotten how beautiful it is riding through the park. Only drawback was the amount of people in the park but even then it was still an awesome ride. Wife and I rode hw49 to Jackson and up over hw 88 to home. what a great weekend.

Not sure it was cool, temp gauge said in Lee Vinning it was 85 and up in the park it was 70-75. perfect for this trip but if I were going in Sept. I think I'd do it just after Labor Day. Like I said I had forgotten how beautiful it is, the roads are awesome except you want to look at everything but you have to pay attention, and the only down side with riding in a large group(22 bikes) is not being able to take the time at each of the stops. Wife and I may take another overnighter in the next few weeks.

Wife and I are a gang of "2".....well, 3 if I tote the step-daughter with us. She just got a new job though (thank goodness) and I am thinking we will take a few days/couple of nights and go up during the week later this month.

Thanks!

We just got home yesterday after 4000+ mile trip to Yosemite and back in roundabout way. Had never been to California before. The riding out there was great and interesting. We came down Hwy 395 from Carson City,NV and thru Bridgeport,CA. Stayed in Oakhurst and went back thru and south to Bridgeport before heading home. Beautiful country, but I would recommend staying out of Yosemite Valley in the park, one hot traffic jam. Somehow I think John Muir would roll over in his grave if he saw the valley now.

PS Being from Nebraska farm country, we could not believe the Bridgeport area and the shear number of cattle. A lot of steaks in that valley.

Leaving Wednesday on our Cali trip. 7 guys renting bikes in San Diego then up to Oakhurst, thru Yosemite on to Reno, Tahoe and accross Hwy 36 to Eureka then down the coast back to San Diego.

Hoping traffic won't kill to ride...getting out of NJ and trying to avoid the Jerseylike traffic!

Amazing roads to ride in Cali...especcially living 5 miles from NYC! Hwy 36 & 89 were the highlight of the 2350+ mile trip!
