Default Average Cost Of A Stage One Upgrade

Well, yesterday I pulled the trigger on a Stage One upgrade for my 2007 Road King Classic. I'm getting a Power Commander III, Rinehart slip-ons, and an SE airbox. No dyno tune though. BEFORE I tell you what this is going to cost installed, I'd like to know what everyone thinks would be a decent price for this set-up? Does anyone have this exact set-up? If so, what did you pay, and how do you like it? As soon as I get a few replies, I'll let you know what it's costing me.

I just got a stage one air filter set up . A power commander 5 and two inch Rush slip ons. Also a cool air cleaner cover. About 700 bucks. Runs great. I had the Power Commander come pre -tuned for my set up. Runs great and I could not be happier. The down side is the typical harley the crap doesn't always fit quite right kind of stuff. But that goes with the territory. LOL. By the way . I ride a 2010 Dyna Wide Glide.

Why don't ya get the PC-V? It's a lot smaller than is the III. I would also recommend getting it from Fuel Moto as you will continue to get free down loads for it. They have whole kits available, PC's, pipes, and A/C kits.

OTOH; WI Bob has a brand new one for sale in the classifieds here on this site for $220,(smokin' deal, if he's still got it)and he will program it for you as will ofcourse Fuel Moto.

I think that I got right at $600 in my stage 1, pipes, PC-V, and Ness A/C.

Yes I did. It was fairly simple. The air cleaner was the only snag but my set is the screaming eagle stage one kit for the 96 Ci . May be different than yours.

My Stage 1 Setup:
S-E Air Cleaner Kit w/K&N Element swap - $115.00
FuelMoto PC-3 w/USB & 'custom' Map - $300.00
V&H True Dual Head Pipes - $315.00
Rush Mufflers w/1 3/4" Baffles - $320.00

I bought the setup in pieces, wherever I found a bargain and over a two year period.
I did the installation myself.
I'm very happy with the results.

Yeah, if you're including the labor to install at $95 per hour with the shop charging approx. 2.5 hours of labor, it wasn't a bad deal.

Installed Rush 2" slip ons, Arlen Ness Big Sucker, SEPST wth the cables and software. I spent about $575 on it in all, but I installed it myself and did the tuning with the smarttune feature of the SEPST. Overall I am very happy and it cooled my engine to a noticable degree, while still getting decent fuel mileage. If you look around and buy at the cheapest you can find and do the work yourself you can get out for a reasonable price.

I did a stage I last year for 320 bucks. 110 for a used fuelpak, 60 for a stage I air cleaner off the classified and 150 for a old stock set of SE slip ons (98bs). Did the install myself, the bike ran great and I g ot better mileage than when I changed to PCV.

Shop around and you can always find a bargain. Right now, slightly used PCIIIs can be had cheaply because guys want to upgrade to PCV or tts.
