I edited my post cause I goofed. The first sentence should have read MC tire and not car tire.
Most videos you'll find on the web show CTs in action and I could only find 1 or 2 vids of MC tires in action. I'll try to locate them again.
Very enlightening indeed.

We have been through this before and I am giving my 'con' opinion. You have made it clear that you love your CT but I don't need to stick a knife in my hand to see if it would hurt (like everybody says it will) Probably a good reason why the HD dealership wouldn't install your CT either. You are entitled to your opinion just as all of us are.
that video from DS doesn't tell us anything other than it 'can' be done. There is no evidence (other than anecdotal) that it is safe. Unless that is we have some design or safety engineers here that will actually say it is. Don't forget, we were told Pinto's and Corvairs and Toyota gas pedals were safe, and that was by the 'experts' How many designs have there been that in the beginning were thought to be safe, but throw in some real life hazards and conditions and 'presto' Cars and aircraft, toasters, tires and the list goes on. I just don't agree with you and the other CT advocates, while I have no evidence to the contrary.

I saw the picture of the guy scraping his left peg with the car tire installed, and I'll have to be honest with you...it looked downright scary. It looked like the tire was riding on its edge with an awful lot of pressure on the sidewall. It sure didn't look stable to me.
The contact patch on the CT in a turn is likely about the same size as a BT tire whether in a turn or going straight.
I don't think pressure on the sidewall is a problem. The tire can support much more weight than the bike can put on it.

some of us have jobs, wait I don't have one either.........lol........stay at home dad with a boy in a wheelchair just added the hack in the spring to bring him along. Since I put two new tires on in April we have gone a little over 5700 miles and still have a little more to go. I am sure that next year it may well be two set maybe three, hell I am just learning to drive this rig and am having as much fun as my boy. So who know where months and miles will take us next.

How much force is put on a car tire (on a car) when you are driving on an on/off ramp, going around corners? Making left or right turns at an intersection? The force to the sidewall on the front tires must be greater than leaning a bike in the corners (maybe not). I am on the fence about switching myself, since they are relatively cheap I might just try, if it sucks i'll be honest, if it is great I will be honest too.

Not sure if this matters...
The stock tire that comes with an 09' Touring bike is a Dunlop D407 180/65B16 81H the max load rating is 1019 pounds at 42 PSI.
The Dunlop SP Sport 5000 Symmetrical (car tire) is rated at 1279 at 51 psi (i know the riders are not at 51 psi).
So would the higher load rating help with sidewall flex?
