No issues with my local dealer. Walked in said to the Parts Mgr " hey I see you got the 2011 parts catalog". He said "yup you want one". Walked out with the new SE catalog also.

 

JP Cycle seems to send me 2 a year for free and I only bought a 26 dollar thing from them about 2-3 years ago.

Update to the story, the dealer 50 miles up the road got the sale and over 2k in accessories and labor work. Bike comes in the next 2 weeks and now that I have the dream book, there will likely be more on delivery day.

 

Went to my dealer hear in Arkansas today and asked for a catalog. 11.95 how many you want. I was floored. I won't buy anything from them anymore. Bought a 2010 ultra from them last fall and all the parts except cams from them... no more....

 

My dealer handed me one before I headed to Sturgis.

 

I walked into a dealer about 1.5 hour away from my house,not my usual dealer,asked the parts guy a few questions,he pulled out a new 2011 catalog to show me something,I said "hey,you got any more of those" he handed me one knowing I wasn't gonna be doing much if any buisness with them. I felt happy about the info/help he gave me and decided to buy a T-shirt while I was there.

 

i've got the parts and accessories catalogs since the mid nineties. i've not gone back up to the dealer since the release of the 2011's, but surely i'll be able to get a 2011 version. it'd be interesting to find out what has been added dollars wise to each of the harleys we've owned. percentage of parts $ vs. the initial purchase price of the harley, i'm thinking that percentage would be pretty high. i'm almost surprised that the catalogs aren't in the clothing and apparel section so they can sell them for $19.95.

 

Just signed a deal for a 2011 EG Limited. My dealer tried to give me a 2010 catalog. I wonder why. He promisses to get me a 2011 catalog shortly (when more come in). He says they have just enough for the parts department for now. I hope he doesn't forget me when more come in. I'll be reminding him.

 

Try to get a brochure, especially a CVO brochure ... being somewhat new to the HD world most dealers remind me of the way Mercedes dealers used to (and some probably still) act. Like it's a privelage to be let in the door.

 

Just called one of the dealers That I use and they are holding it for me until the weekend when I am in town. Between two dealers in NM and a one in Ga I probably spend near 10K this year in parts( Wrecked Bike and fixing it my self), Accessories, and stuff when I bought the bike like helmets and leather. So I do not expect to have any problems getting them as needed.
