EG Shocks on a SG
Has anybody installed Electra Glide shocks on a Street Glide? I rented a Road Glide this past week and noticed a major improvement in ride comfort. It may have been the seat (I found the RG seat excellent), but I believe it was the shocks. Anyone know the EG shock part number? Thanks John

Well, RG owners, you asked for it...I am glad that I spent $75 on a rental (got a great deal from Sacramento HD). Because now I know for certain that I will never will make the mistake and spend $20,000 on a RG.

I was not thrilled with the RG, particularly on the highway near trucks. While the bike was very comfortable (both seat and shocks), the shaking while within about 100 feet of trucks was horrible. It was not a windy day, but I really felt as if I was going to be blown off the road. I've never experienced that with the batwing fairing.

I am possibly doing the same thing on my 07 after I do the windshield and seat swap.
You can watch on Ebay, they sell for under 100 bucks often, pretty cheap experiment. Not to mention your current lowering shocks bring decent money if you like the tall ones
I think effective rake will be changed by less than .75 degree doing some quick math (estimating didnt do any measurements on the bike) so if you dont raise the front you ARE going the wrong way for highway stability, however, I dont think at that amount it'll be that significant either
Take that advice from an auto chassis expert that is pulling advice out of his a$$ for a bike Don't use it to defend your life LOL
