Kansas City Factory Tour

Kansas City Factory Tour
I'm planning on heading out for a factory tour in Kansas City on Friday. I figure it'll take us (4 of us) about 6 hours to get there, leaving from Central, IL. This will be our first overnight trip.
Has anyone taken the tour there?
I'm kind of wondering where a good place to spend the night would be, and where we can hook up with some quality bbq.
Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

I did the tour at the KC factory earlier this year. It's about an hour long. At the beginning of the tour you watch a short film on the history of Harley Davidson (my favorite part of the tour) and then you move out to the factory floor. I enjoyed myself, but it's one of those things that if I never did it again in my life, I'd be okay with that.
Basically any of the big name BBQ joints in KC are good to go - Arthur Bryants, Gates etc.
For lodging there are a few casino's on the Northeast side of the city which is where I would recommend staying. Harrah's is one of the big ones and their rates are usually pretty reasonable, and they have a decent buffet. Good luck.

Yes, but you won't be anywhere near "those" places. PM me and I'll give you my phone number in case you need anything rolling through KC. The plant is up by the airport, so there's a plethora of places to stay. Since you're going to be up that way, The Smokehouse at Zona Rosa is good. Oklahoma Joes is my favorite, but it can be a challenge to get there if you're not familiar with the area. BUT, if you do go there, I would suggest checking out the Liberty Memorial. It's the only WWI museum in the States, and it's pretty damn cool I think. Also, does anyone smoke cigars in your group? If so, stop by the Outlaw off of I29 and 64th street. Large humidor and would have whatever you smoke.
