Good point!
I've just read in the manual that it comes from the factory with EITMS disabled so I'm gonna go out and turn it on .

Yeah, I really couldn't see the point of running with it off. My 08 came with it disabled from the factory, too. If I didn't read that in the book (and we all know to read the instructions ), I would have assumed the opposite.

I turned nine off because it was kicking on at ever stop light, I keep a eye on my temp and if need I just roll the throttle forward. I have a 2010 flhtk I really think my sensors are not working right but the dealer said it was normal.

My 2008 RK does the same thing but I can be riding at city speeds or
on the hwy at higher speeds and it will flicker sometimes. Seems like
if I activate the cruise control then turn it off, the flicker will stop for
awhile but then it returns. Everything seems to be working as it should
on the bike. I thought maybe I had a loose wire in the handle bar switch
until I started reading some of these comments. Now I'm not sure???

No, you can able and disable with the bike running. Sounds to me like you are inadvertently rolling the throttle forward while doing your maneuvers.

Because it is not necessary for the engine. Harley has stated this feature is for rider comfort. Nothing more, nothing less.

I keep mine off. I live in South Texas where a "cold front" as described by a weather man, meant a high of only 95.

i can almost guarantee that that is what you are doing. i say this because i know that i do it all the time. when backing up and turning the bars, i end up rolling the throttle forward.

The ABS light does that. Not cruise control.
