Hi All

Talk to a Harley salesman today about adding a 103 to my 09 SG. I seem to remember they had a winter special a few months ago upgrading to 103s with 255 cams for $1500. He said the Harley 103 upgrade does not change the stock cam. He said even the Ultra Limited has the same 97 stock cam because any other cam would cancel the warranty.

According to the SE catalog, the Stage II 103 upgrade kit includes the Stage II SE-255 cams. The Stage I upgrade kit does not include cams. I have been looking at the same kits.

 

Remember who your talking to, salesmen are as useless as the little wet napkins they give you at Chili's when you order ribs.

 

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think if you get the 103 from the factory, it has the same cams as a stock 96" and if you buy it aftermarket, it comes with the SE255's.

 

I am sure the 103 kit comes with the 255 cams. I have to believe the salesman is not correct with that one.

 

I also believe that the 103 factory installed kit does NOT come with the cams. I demo'd a 2011 Ultra Limited today and and it pulled nowhere near as hard as my buddy's '07 SG with the 103" BB Stage II kit in it. Granted there is some weight difference but that's not the difference.

My '05 EG Classic with the 95" BB Stage II kit would have smoked this 2011 Ultra Limited with the 103".

 

I know i read that the factory 103" keeps the stock mufflers as the 96" so it can keep quiet enough for EPA this could have been the difference. Oh yea and dont forget the cat in the head pipe, meeouch.

 

I had tw6-6 woods cam in my limited...had a clutch problem....dealer covered it under warranty.......harley tech said no....dealer said they'd cover it.....dealer has discretion over certain things....

 

I got the 103 with Stage II. HUGE diff from stock cam, all the way through the gears.

 

The limited and cop bikes have had the same cams as the 96. All choked up and nowhere to go.

Of course it just means you get to choose. I suppose the moco will have some input into your selection if you want to keep your warranty.
