Trailer week at Sturgis
#33
Made the 'trip' riding from WI three times. Was there for the 50th Anniversary. We were a whole lot younger then…S/O was a lot more of a sport about such thing then also. My ol’ bones just can’t take 2-3 hard days of riding without a lot of recuperation time in between.
Haven’t attended in years. I’d prefer to ride the whole way, but would probably trailer to within 3-400 miles of Sturgis and ride the rest of the way in.

had plans to leave on 6th in am, unfortunately the guy I ride out with can't leave until the 7th due to work issues. We ride out every year together and he's bummed about the delay. Told him today it wasn't a big deal, after all these years one less day in sturgis is not gonna kill us. Should be there by Sunday unless we decide to take the long way (thru the UP of MI) if we go that way it may not be till monday. We never decide on the route till we check the weather the nite before we leave. Hell we don't even know where we're staying this year, we're each packing a 1 man tent and sleeping bag just in case we can't get a room anywhere. That's how we always travel when the wives aren't with us and so far we've never had a problem with lodging, even on the so called busy years.

Man this topic seems to get more people riled up than just about any other. For the record, I am riding my Road King from Maryland 1650 miles for the 8th time in 9 years. Does that make me more of this or that than someone who trailers...nope. I do recommend that everyone rides to Sturgis at least once, because for me...it's half the enjoyment of the trip.If you choose not to ever do that it's ok by me. Have fun be safe. Oh, please stay to the right and let the guys on the bikes through.
