Leaving Friday at noon and will be riding up and staying at Katmandu Campground. Mainly just because we like to ride, if the rally were not going on we would have gone to Reno to visit some friends (we were basically going to ride somewhere). If someone needs to trailer the bike, that is fine. Do what you need to do.

Based on the things I've seen and done up there, I personally don't think Sturgis is a good place for kids. They might be able to turn Vegas into a "family place" but Sturgis is still a little too wild for minors. There is planty of nudity which if fine with me, I've seen a lot of fights and been in a couple, I saw someone get stabbed, I'm told he later died, I've ridden up on a few accidents, one before emergency crews arrived, ruined my favorite shirt sopping up blood gushing from this gals head, she lived. Not the place I want to bring my kids... or my wife for that matter and yet I keep going back. Sorry to rant. Have fun and be safe.

I don't get these threads about the negativity of trailering... I mean really... Who cares?

Who cares how you got there? Really do you feel more manly if you rode? This is one of the statements from bikers I just dont get.

The wife and I leave on Wed morning from Vancouver Island. It's all about the backroad ride there and back for us.
Sturgis is great for shopping, bands, and meeting new friends.
5 days to get there. 4 days there. 12 days to take the l o n g way home.
See you there. I'll be the guy waving ;p

First trip to Sturgis for me and I am haulin it there on a trailer, well most of the way until I meet up with others in our group coming from other parts of the US then the wife is driving the trruck and I am riding with the group. But if you feel the need to look me up becuase my Ole Lady cant handle sitting that long becuase of her artritus in her knees so we decided to drive, please do.

To everyone else, drive safe whatever mode of transport you choose and I for one am in dire need of a vacation so I am soooo ready to go.

I always ride my bike to trailer week, but then, I'm only 7 hours from downtown Sturgis...so that's an easy ride for me!
