Default Previous owner's pipes - what are they?

Just bought this bike last week. Previous owner had these pipes installed but he did not know what they were - he guessed they were Screamin Eagles. There is no label on them anywhere that I can see. Thought I would post a photo and have someone here identify them for me.

Looks like they could be either Samson, or Bassani side cut's. Might want to take a look at their products on-line.

Well I can't say I am real fond of them. How long do mufflers typically last anyway?

There isn't a hard and fast rule on muffler lifespan. It depends on how tuned the bike is (i.e. how much heat is getting to the mufflers), how well made they are, etc. It's the fiberglass packing that will wear out eventually.

Pipes are as individual as the bike themselves, and with so many choices, it can be difficult to pick.

Personally speaking, I would stay within the 'known' brands. True, they may be 'common' but, you'll get better support if/when you need it.

Looks kind of like D&D slip ons if they are kind of loud. Here is a picture with their head pips and mufflers. Used this picture for the mufflers.
