Checking air in rear tire... Any Tricks??

+1, this makes it much simpler to fill since you can attach the air hose to this after this is put on the tire valve

Whatever you decide on, it needs to work while out on the road when you need air and I've found that 75% of the gas station air hoses are not angled and I was unable to get the hose on the valve securely.
I find a right angle chuck on the gauge is essential. But when you need air, the home rig in post #11 or the EZ-Gauge in post 33 would work best.
I have the RK Classic saddlebags which are easy to remove, and the H-D filler strips between the fender and bags so there isn't a lot of room to get at the valve but if I remove the bag and get the valve at about 10:30 I can reach in between a gap in the filler strip and not have to lay on the pavement.
Remember to check your air pressure cold.

Wow! How could a simple PSI check be so complicated? But it is a bitch to do and I see several excellent solutions that sound & look great. Wish I had axed you folks this for outstanding help but I fount out a way all by myself. Spoke wheels & saddle bags on Beloved Heritage. I axed the H-D parts guy what their shop used to check & bought it. A 30$ gauge with the flex hose & angled nipple makes it a breeze. On the dial face it has the beautiful H-D logo. Also it has a probe to check depth of thred depth. Made in China! I go to shop and requested a check psi with their gauge & nice folks brought out a gauge like mine & they were exactly same. 30.$ benifit. Now, one time I was polishing "Black Beauty" & tire needed a 1/4 rotation or so and staying on my stool I started pushing same "BB" & the jiffy stand retracted & Darlin' laid down on me & I couldn't move her. Wife got 2 neighbors to set her up. She said I screamed like a girl & I had to use a walker for 6 weeks!! To keep me from killing myself, I ordered a Motorcycle Wheel Cleaning Stand. Small unit with 2 rollers & tire sits between them and tire can be rotated with one hand. Harbor Freight advertises @19.$ but delivery price @ 40.$. Read the fine print. This is the way that works for me.

I use this Chec-A-Spare hose. Simply screw it on then check the pressure.

How 'bout a 90 degree valve stem from www.kurveygirl.com ? No fancy (and spendy) HD tools required for these. Also there are 90 degree valve stem extensions available here: www.dual-star.com
Most run in the $5-$15 range (although the fancy aluminum jobs cost a bit more).

I use one of these with my air compressor in the garage; I got it cheap at Walmart. Mine has a blue handle, which might be a Walmart thing, and it cost me about $15.00. I have an 09 EGC with laced wheels so this works very well for me. I also steal the old ladies gardening knee pad to kneel down on; it's the getting back up part that's getting harder these days.

Found it cheaper on Amazon 17.50 w 5.34 shipping total 22.84. When I bought mine I check w the Mfg. why they don't use a 90 degree chuck and he stated they don't work as well.
