Default RK Custom Mud Flap?!?!??

So I ordered a mud flap for my RK Custom. I opened the box, took a look at the instructions, and they instruct you to place a template on the rear fender and to drill three holes through the fender to mount it. I went back to the HD website to take another look at the picture because I don't ever recall seeing three screws in the back of the fender, and sure enough, there weren't. Talk about a picture mis-representing reality.

So I crawled under the back of the bike and there was a single bolt behind the fender emblem. I removed the nut, slid the mud flap over the bolt between the fender and the bracket, and cinched it back down. It's probably a little higher than it should be, but at least I don't have three new rust holes in my fender.

good info. I have one also and have been looking at the drilling part, not sure if I really wanted to do that. Already put the FLX tail light assembly on, it should go good with that. Thanks.

After looking at that bolt, seems you could make a small plate that would drop the mount point an inch lower to put the flap in the proper posistion. Not sure about clearance but it looks ok. May have to play with that.

After looking at the stock picture on hd's website, it looks like it's hanging in about the same spot. The drop down plate is a good idea. I wasn't about to drill holes in my fender though.

Yea don't drill them 3 hole's, because that is a MOD and you will have to redyno if you do.
