Default Which Sirius Radio to Buy?

My Pioneer INNO2 has bombed out. So, what handlebar mounted Sirius radio works well on an Ultra Classic? Is the Harley version an overpriced, underperforming knock off? I have a Garmin with Sirius but no output that will work with my Ultra's intercom and sound system. I'd have to dump that and go with a Bluetooth wireless headset and lose the sound system integration.

"personally, i own two sirius radios (for our cars) and if i were in the market for one now, i wouldn't get one. Once howard stern leaves that whole company is going down. sounds silly i know, but you watch."

i should really change that to "IF" he leaves, i think last time i heard, its still up in the air.

If Sirius goes down, that will be a bummer going across the U.S. as some areas have nothing but farm reports and hog belly futures. I need some talk radio and music to keep from going crazy.

You've got to be kidding.... Howard Stern leaving would be the best thing that could happen to Sirius.

The sirius units with the "car kits" are crap. I recently canceled my subscription after I had three of there higher priced units bite the dust in less than 3 years. The car kits are worse Ive had to replace the $50 dollar car kit 5 or 6 times. I loved the service, but unless you can get a radio that had sirius capabilities built in, i would stay away and use an ipod.

what gps unit do you have? I was running the sirius starmate with the motorcycle mount. worked flawless for 20k miles. bought a zumo550 with the gxm40 antenna about 4 months ago and it interfaces to the ultra auxiliary port. sirius and xm are basically the same programing with the exception of a few "who cares" stations. also just installed the hd bomm to convert my ultra headset mic to work as the mic with the bluetooth phone through the ultrd sound system.

I have an older sportster radio that I bought a mount that came with a small satelite anntena, a 1/8 cable that plugs right into the radio on my ultra. I hooked the mount into the wires behind my headlight. I think the mount cost around $50. I've had it for a little over a year and it works great.
