Screamin' Eagle Thunder Street Performance Slip-On Mufflers on an 09??
Not sure if anyone has tried the new Screamin' Eagle Thunder Street Performance Slip-On Mufflers? (http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US) I have an 09 Ultra and was wondering if these could be used on my 09? I know it says made for the 2010 but I'm wondering if that's due to the EPA and the headermounted catalysts which will make it quieter? They look like they are the SuperTrapp SE pipes with a Screamin Eagle Logo on them.
Any feedback one people that are rolling with these or have thoughts please let me know.
since you have a 2010 883 Iron I would bet it will still be pretty tame due to the catalysts in your head pipe. The 09 does not have the catalysts so I'm thinking on an 09 these pipes may have some nice tone? The Screamin Eagle EPA pipes are all pretty quiet. My thought is these are the SuperTrapp SE pipes since the catalysts in the 2010 will quiet them down which makes the EPA on a 2010. I could be WAY wrong though....

Can you do a sound clip? I was think about doing this with my 07 FHLX, Are they very load? At idle, how about around 2,500 rpm?
No, tried doing a sound clip after I get them for a friend and they sounded so bad on the sound clip I didn't even email the video to my friend. Sorry. I think these are the perfect pipes IMO. I just traded my Ultra in yesterday for a Road King Fire Fighter addition and took these pipes off and put them on the Road King. The sound that good I didn't want to part with them. The only thing I would say on the sound is 2010 and later have a catalyst in the head pipe which will change the sound a bit. My Ultra was a 09 and the RK I just bought is a 09 so they are perfect. Funny as I was going in to look into ordering a FF RK and the dealer had one with 1000 miles on it. Worked out VERY well for me. Usually I'm not that lucky.
