Default Help with weird noise on 2008 RKC.

Hi All,
I just bought a 2008 RKC used. BIke is immaculate with 8k miles. I noticed a strange mechanical sound coming from the bottom left side but only when pulling away from a stop if I don't give it enough gas. Now, I am giving it enough gas to pull away but it seems this one likes more. Its like a mechanical knocking sound. I never noticed this sound on other RK's I've ridden and wondering if its normal or if something needs to be adjusted. Its almost like when I apply more throttle the tension is taken up and the sound goes away.
Any ideas? Sorry in advance, thats the best I could explain it.
Thanks,
Joe

it sounds like the compensator.the stock compensator kinda looks like a harminic balancer it has 2 weights inside and flat springs they are week from the factory,it also causes the bang at start up its the weights hitting bottom.more gas and a little more clutch slide, or upgrade to the screaming eagle comp.

could also be the chain tensioner leaving slack in the chain.

Belt is tight and the sound is coming low on the center of the bike. I don't even know what a compensator is so I better pull out my service manual.

Any other ideas?

Default I had a similar sound

and it was frustrating to say the least. I discovered it to be the left rear passenger footboard. When it was up it would vibrate at a lower rpm. When I put it down or reached down and touched it, the rattle would stop. I'm still trying to rectify this problem but at least I finally found it.

Thanks guys. After doing some research on the compensator it sounds like it could be the issue but it seems it primarily involved 2007's. Not sure if they changed the design in 2008. hucks 08 bike does it too which is somewhat comforting but his may be faulty as well. The sound is definitley coming from the primary.

Thanks for all the help in sorting this out. Any other thoughts?
