I went with Wild 1 518's called the Road King II bars, low wide and very long pullback. They sit me almost square upright and eased the angle of my wrists alleviating the carpal tunnel numbing I was experiencing.

I have heritage bars now and I am debating to switch as I am running a corbin seat which sits be back some and I still feel I am reaching too much, thought of switching to RK reach bars.

One caution on the 518 bars, they will put the hands down in contact with the thighs on tight maneuvers if you have a long inseam. Kind of un-nerving but tolerable, I am 6'2" 280 with a 32' inseam. Install instructions said could use stock cables and controls but I had to add 4" longer throttle cables to get the slack back as well the front brake hoses to get a 4" longer upper hose.

If you like 'em low these are the ones!

have the reduced reach bars and they are very comfortable. you can run the wiring(starter, turn, cruise, etc.) inside the reduced reach bars. very nice clean look.

not trying to hijack the thread but, why does the HD site say the heritage style bars won't work on an ABS bike?

Don't forget to just try changing the angle first. I nearly bought new ones until I realized I could lower my Heritage bars until I got the leverage I wanted.

Default heritage bars

I had installed the heritage bars shortly after I bought my RK. I couldnt stand the wrist angle. The heritage bars are a definite improvement over stock but I get a little discomfort in my shoulder because im still having to reach . I was thinking of going with 10" or 12" apes but im not sure if wires and cables need to be changed. If anyone knows info would be great. I figured I get the taller bars than the heritage and rotate them down a little.

I'm doing mine this weekend...as far as I know I think I will need about 4" more of line...but until I get in it I won't know(or I should say my bf). I will post pictures after we are done.

I went with the reach bars. Love them. Held them side-by-side with the Heritage bars and there was very little difference.

Did them my self. Here is a link to a great reference for the job. I used it when I did mine.
