Default 13" or 14" apes on Streetglide

I am wanting to order some apes for my SG today but I am having mixed feelings on what size to order. I originally wanted to go with the 13" Cyclesmith's but after reading through the posts some guy's wish they would have went bigger. Also I see that a lot of guy's re-routed their cables on 13" apes and wondering if there is enough to do it with the 14" apes? I appreciate any feedback and I have enjoyed reading everyone's post's so far.

I don't think you'll need to extend the wires with the 14". I put 13" on my 05 EGC and didn't extend any wires, Had plenty. You will need +6 on all the cables and lines.

I just put 16" on my 2010, and did have to extend the wires and used +9 on the clutch and a 6 foot brake line for the ABS.

I don't work or get any pay from Hill Country Custom, but I did order both my 13" and 16" from them. The highth of the bars realy depends on your hight. I'm 6-9, so the 16" feel realy good.

I just put on 16" Trask Performance Bro Bars. Similar to Yafee Bagger bars. I really like em. Not too tall & not too short.

I had 13" cyclesmiths now have 16". I like the 16's alot more.

I just put a set of hill country 14" on a buddies bike. The bars are very nice but I wasn't impresed with the brake line. It had 4 different joints and 3 of them leaked. we had a hell of a time to get them to stop.

I had zero problems with the magnum cables I have.

I know what you mean about the leaking lines from HCC. They use Motion Pro cables and brake lines, and they suck. Now the have Drag Specialty, but you have to ask for them. They are good, no probs at all with them.

Wild 1 14's are as tall as Cyclesmith 16's; Wild 1 12.5's are taller than Cyclesmith 13's. They all measure 'em different. Best find somebody that has a set you've got your eye on and try 'em first. I love my Wild 1's! BR Custom has some nice bars, too, but pricey... I went with +8" clutch cable, +10" throttle and idle cables, and 8" wire extensions with my 14" 576's... if I had it to do over I'd go with +10" on the clutch, too.
