Default 98 Road King fuel line HELP!

Ok guys need your expertise, again. I have a 98 fuel injected RK. According to the service manual the supply and return lines are quick connect. So, I unscrewed them from the bottom of the tank, the fitting that screws into the bottom of the tank should disconnect from the line itself, exposing another o-ring, which is where my line is leaking. Problem is I can't figure out how to disconnect that fitting. I'm sure it is easier than I'm makin it, I'm sure I'll hate myself after hearing someone's response. Any ideas??

You just push up on the outer ring of the fuel line where it connects to the fitting, this should of been done before you removed the fittings from the tank. I've never taken the fittings out of the tank so I'm not sure how hard it's going to be to separate them now, same principal, just a lot harder to hold the fittings steady now.

The fitting does not come apart on the stock lines. You need to replace the lines. About 170 each from HD, or you can buy the Goodridge lines for about 160 for the pair. Do a search on here for the part number. The Goodridge lines are SS braided with chrome ends, and the o-rings in the nipple fittings are replaceable. You will also need the o-ring kit from HD 17403-95, and a few clips HD11150.
