Default all you baggers....It pays if...

......you decide to get an engine guard and hardbag guards.
I went down tonite while pushing the bike backwards in a driveway. All it took was a pea size stone to get under my left foot as I was backing. Sure enough, I had the bars turned to the right. My foot slipped on the rock and didn't grip on the cement and I went down. I had a few small scrapes, not hurt...just my pride.
NOW If I didn't have the guards....hmmm....possibly hard bag damage along with one turn signal, bent up floorboard maybe, but I'm sure I would have hurt my foot and leg.
So if you don't think you need'em. Re-think it.

Exactly why I put them on my Street Glide. If I should happen to drop the bike, at least the bags will be somewhat protected and won't be severely damaged (plus I was able to get the bags with the water bottles to mount on the bars).

While teaching the wife how to ride my Road King..Those bars come in handy and they are in the right place..The bike sits down on them pretty well..

Been thinkin' about bag guards for my SG. Dropped my '06 Road King FLHR and the bag guards protected the bags completely. So now I have to evaluate "cool" versus "function". Thanks for the post.

I'm afraid there were 5 witnesses. I was totally caught off guard and embarrassed big time.

lookin' good eric moore !

one-up, get the guards, and powder coat them the same color as the SG. Ain't nothing cool about spending the $$$$ to replace those expensive color-coded hard bags !

I never realized that engine/bag guards were uncool to folks, learned how important they were when I took my basic rider course.

Nice work!

I took mine off for 7 years because I thought it looked better(front and rear)

I put them back on because you all made me paranoid .
