Default Carb swap on a EFI Twin Cam engine

Hello all, I am currently starting a build on a SoftTail. It is a custom stretched "Hurricane" frame, a 2004 HD FLT 88ci Twin Cam engine EFI (unbalanced) engine off of a RoadGlide, and a Ultima 5 speed trans. My question is this: The bike needs to be wired so would it be easier to buy a complete EFI wiring harness from the 2004 RoadGlide and adapt it to this buildm or would it be possible to go from EFI to a Carb?? Is this engine designed to run only on EFI set up or can it be run on a carb??

gb, you can switch from efi to carb, no problem. Here's the dyna tech but his is for an evo, peek around and find the one for an 04. You wont need the harness. Welcome and good luck.

It's possibe either way but if you already have the EFI equipement, why not use it. It will be more reliable in the long run. Get rubber mounts for the motor; again you will be happy in the long run.

Thanks Phat96 and producer....The engine I bought has only the throttle body...no wiring or sensors or fuel rail.....

Let me find the list of what it took to swap to a carb and i will send it t you.

If all you have is the efi and nothing else then it is just as cheep to go to a carb as it would be to get the rest of the efi components.
