Default For those of you with custom wheels?

How is your guys valve stem connected to the rim? I bought some pickard wheels 2 years ago and took the wheels to get the tire changed and the damn mechanic ripped the valve stem off. The mechanic said it was a bad design of wheels, said the valve stem wasnt flush to the rim like most others and i was wondering if he was full of sh*#t or not. I didnt even knew you got near the valve stem when you changed a tire. Anyways i was wonderin what your guys valve stems are like. Mine looks like a rubber groumet is holding it in.

Your valve stem is probably just a plug in type. I would replace it when replacing the tire.

I replace them every time I replace a tire, even the H-D ones are only a buck (and they are shorter than what is commonly available).
Not sure what he meant by flush to the rim or how he ripped it off.

All of my vehicles have the metal(chrome) threaded and held with a nut. Cheap insurance.
