Fallon has motels, Best Western caters to HOG members. I think the first stop fr. the West to get booklet stamped is in Fernley, ck w NV HWY dept. It's cool in the A.M., leave early like at 5:30 and you'll need leathers but by 11:00 you'll fry. Utah is HOT right now, southern area is like 110.

Probably any gas station or Bar in Fallen, Nv. should be able to hook you up.

I live in Sparks NV and I vote for HWY 50. If you stay on 50 out of Fallon it will take you into Carson City downtown and if you decide to come into Reno about 8 miles west of Fallon the road will split one way is 50 into Carson the other is alt 95 which will take you into Fernley and then Reno. From either Reno or Carson you will pick up 395 going south through Bridgeport to Lee Vining. Just a mile or 2 south of Lee Vining you will turn right up into the Tioga Pass into Yosomite. Going Back it will be a lot cooler on 50 than vegas and once you get into Utah you can decide to either go north to I80 or south and pick up route 66. Have Fun

Did this in July of 06. Hot, but manageable riding early in the am. Strongly recommend a Camelbak and would consider the cooling vest option too.
