A battery needs to be fully charged before performing a load test on it.

hey someone at work asked about a fuse? bike functions normally-starts strong-just the chk engine lite and batt lite on. no fuse involved here right?

BTW- to update my earlier post on the dealership: they called back with an est of just under 700 bucks (if it needs the stator and reg) and a free pickup of my bike. feel; a little better bout them now anyways.

Talking Update

well of all things turned out to be a cracked battery terminal. YES i checked all that, did a visual (altho i do have some sight issues)-tightened the reminals and pulled and wiggled the wires all to no avail. BUT all in all Seminole HD towed my bike in (30 miles) checked it out, installed new OE battery and washed the bike for 200 bucks. it should be noted they had my approval to do 700 dollars worth of stator/reg but were HONEST . Kudos to Dave , Curly and the crew at Seminole HD in Sanford FL. much appreciated

I have an older syle Evo '91 with one, solid wire going from voltage regulator all the way to main 30 amp circuit breaker under rightside cover. That connector looks weak esp. to be along the frame in the elements and carrying charging amps to the battery. Reminds me of one of the little butt connectors going to my dash lights. Good idea might be to go to hard "butt" connection or just run the wire all the way to main breaker from the regulator. Just my 2 cents.
