Default 2010 clutch adjustment

I'm getting ready to change my fluids for the first time on my 2010 EGC and I was wondering if I should check the clutch adjustment while I have the primary cover off. Anybody got a write up on how to adjust the clutch?

Thanks

I did my 1000 mile service last month, I adjusted the slack out of the cable to a nickel width, but I did not do an adjustment. Someone on here stated that the clutches tend to be adjusted too much, I like how mine is, so I took out the cable slack. Plus, I rode the bike to normal operating temps and it says to do a clutch adjustment on a "cold" engine. So, if/when I do it, it will be before I go out on a ride one morning.

The most important thing is to adjust the clutch cold. I would do the clutch adjustment prior to changing the fluids. You can put the cover on with the old seal if you warm it up to change the fluids. I would definitely recommend checking the adjustment on the first few services, due to break-in on clutch plates. You can find some info here on doing the adjustment, but you need to get a manual if you are going to be doing the service yourself.

Buy a manual, it will be the best money you have spent and it basically walks you through a clutch adjustment. If you want a more visual approach check out youtube just type in clutch adjustment HD

Definately get the manual. I wouldnt try and do it without one. They are well written and very easy to follow. For the clutch, use the search, there are some very simple methods for adjusting it. Learning the "feel" the manual talks about is kinda hard, the other methods on the board takes the guess work out of it.

Best advice is to get a tech manual and use it to perform your services. I have one for all my bikes. Saves a lot of time and guess work.
