Who makes and sells the small tweeters that I hear people are putting in their guage holes. Is there some sort of crossover needed to drive these?

Mine were an Alpine component set with crossovers. I removed the 5.25", but kept the tweeters and crossovers and added the 7.25" J&M kit.

I will shop around and see what I can find. Did the tweeters sound the way you wanted. I like the tweeter pod but I really don't want to hog the front of the bike up to much. Still searching for ideas. Thanks for the info

Installed the Hertz last weekend, and yes, finally got the sound I was looking for. Using them with an Arc Audio amp. Shame the Hertz cost so much.

Blatant hijack: I've got a set of Hogtunes I would sell for $50 shipped (used 1 year, never abused, excellent condition), and a set of Arc Audio 6.5 speakers I would sell for $100 shipped (used 2 months, never abused, excellent condition). The Arc require special adapters, which I don't have as I need to use them with my Hertz. But I'm sure you can get a set from Firecap for very little $, when he returns from his long ride.

Also, big cudos to Firecap. He steered my where I wanted to go, kept telling me to get the Hertz but I didn't think I wanted to spend so much. Ultimately he helped get me where I wanted to go. I was having some installation problems with the amp as I was using the hot wire for my heated grips. I made a call to Firecap on a late Saturday afternoon, left a message, and he actually called me back within 5 minutes and walked me through the detour. Thanks Firecap!

Like I said, it was purchased as a component set. The one thing I noticed after installing the 7.25's is I had no mids. They were a two way speaker. The system sounds pretty damn good IMHO. The 7.25 woofer makes a big difference. All the tweeters produce are the highs, nothing else. So there can't be that much expectation. They did add to the whole system though.

Just put the new Hogtunes in 2009 Streetglide, no amp, sounds awesome. I don't see why you would even need an amp.

i'm using the hogtunes tweeter pod in my streetglide. it's an easy install and looks like it belongs there rather than an add on. it really improved the treble/highs. i don't like the idea of running an amp, that's just something else that can go wrong i figure. you will not get the booming bass out of a bike stereo, but then again, who would want to sound like you're driving a 92 corolla with 12's and huge amps that rattle every plastic piece of the car.
