For the hell of it I called my dealer today to see what it would cost me to go from my 06 SG to an 07 sg or rg. My bike plus 6k is the figure I got and don't plan on getting too much more money for any add ons. Said they're giving roughly 1500 for a depreciation on the bike and then 4500 cause that's what it would cost to build an 88 into a 96" motor. So there's where the 6k comes in. I was curious how bad they were but didn't think it would be quite that bad. If I really get the itch I will sell outright. Definitely can't take that much of a beating!

Anyone else done this? How much of a deal did you get?

 

My dealer told me $5400 and my 06 Roadglide for an 07 Roadglide.

Why would you want to trade anyway, my 03 Heritage is still fine to me. Dont want to get rid of one of the family?

 

Can't speak for anyone but me. Before I drop almost $3K for a new 6 speed overdrive trans, I wanted to see what it would cost to move up a model year.

 

Wait a year. Enjoy what you have.........I'd say the minuses outweigh the pluses at the moment.

 

My dealer was going to give me $18500.00 for my 06 Ultra with 2500 miles on it. It had exhaust, chrome wheels, xm radio, numerous chrome upgrades. I told them to pound sand and I listed the bike on ebay. It sold for $24,600.00 ( item # 190010467447 for those of you who don't believe me ). Harleys really hold their value and the dealers should not be allowed to make the money off the bike that the original buyer is entitled to. [sm=biker2.gif]

 

Id say yours was the exception rather than the norm, I can buy a 07 cheaper than that here in georgia, ebay is hit or miss, as a ebay 400+ seller I can tell you its a crap shoot as to getting a good sale or not. Glad it worked for you.

 

Ebay may be a crap shoot but I sold my 2003 RK for $20,000 about 4 months ago on ebay. Guy from NY drove to GA and paid cash. It was his first ebay deal and he loved it.

 

For $4,500 you could punch up your motor so much that you would eat the 96"

I never trade any of my bikes, I ride them untill they are dead, or near it. It's the only way to get your monies worth IMO.
