Question Help.wont go into gear 2003 RoadKing

I have a 2003 Roadking. went to put it into gear and it would not engage in any gear. Only whining sound like slippage? Also heard the whining sound last week while on the freeway but didnt know what it was untill Saturday. Then it just would not go into gear. Thanks Danbo

Questions for when you get your postings sorted. You say it wont go into gear, what do you mean? When you try to press down is the gear shifter rigid. Have you tried lifting the shifter to get it into second. You say there is a whine, is that before you pull the clutch in or after, before or after you have tried to move the shifter. It may sound dumb, but I cant help but wonder if you have got it in gear and that your clutch is slipping. It happened to me when my clutch burnt out and my first reaction was, have I put it in gear, closely followed by my drive belt is broken

Default possible clutch

It happens when you put it in gear and let the clutch out then you get the whining sound and it doesnt go, thats also in every gear. You can also put it in gear and roll it without the clutch engaged and you hear the same sound.

Clutch gone or needs adjustment and based on my experience it goes out very quickly. Try backing your clutch right off
