Montube Cartridge

I did the Progressive monotube cartridge kit on my 2009 Street Glide that lowers the front end up to 2 inches when I put my PM wheels on. Being that I went with a 21" front wheel, I wanted to bring the front end down a bit so the bike doesn't look odd. Results were better than I expected. Lowered my front end a full 1.5" which looks great, but the ride results were even better.
The ride quality is more on the performance handling end, but is not harsh at all. The front end takes more abuse on rough roads so it doesn't beat up the rider. I highly recommend them. They work great!

Good to hear good results with the Monotube's. If they work half as good as the Ricor Intiminator's it's an excellent product and sounds like a preferred product if lowering the front end.

I installed the 2" lowering monotube kit on my 2008 Roadglide. I am not happy with the ride at all. The ride is very bouncy compared to the 1" lowering kit from Harley. I did not install any of the preload spacers, as the directions did not say to. After a phone call to Progressive, the amount of spacers that you use is based on your weight and riding style. Again, nothing about this in the directions. I was told that you should start with 4 on each side, and then remove them one at a time until you get the ride that you are looking for. That is crazy. Who wants to keep taking the front end apart, especially on a RG or SG. I think that Progressive should include a chart with the directions saying: if you weigh this amount to this amount, use this many spacers. Based on my weight, Progressive is saying that I "should" be good with two spacers each side. I'll try this and let you know how it turns out. In the mean time, if you purchase this kit, give Progressive a call prior to installation to find out how many preload spacers you should use.

Yeah I am really not understanding Progressive!! It wouldn't be that hard to keep some statistics of what people use etc. I put the Progressive Drop in kit in my bike, I finally called them because it said my bike required 0.0" of spacers?? So that would be a 2" drop? How big of spacer do I use for 1" drop? Guy tells me start with 1" spacer and go from there..... I was like, you don't know how much of a spacer is required on a 2009 Road Glide? It's not a freaking Royal Infield, it's a Harley. His answer, we every bike is different, you could have a different radio!!! I swear to god he told me that, a different radio??? So you don't give any guidelines??? Whatever!!!!

I had 3 spacers in mine, the ride and handling was great, much better than stock, my only complaint was on large bumps the rebound was harsh, it never bottomed but was hard, Progressive told me to go to 2 and it should soften it a little, I pulled 1 the other day, once I take it out for a test ride I will updates, I am only running the 1 spring in the bottom, not the 2 for 2" lower

I'm looking forward to hearing how the ride was with two spacers. I'm undecided on what to do. I'm either going to add two preload spacers, change out the monotube kit to the progressive 2" lowering springs, or as a absolute last resort, change my 21" front wheel out for an 18" and go back to the Harley 1" lowering springs.

test rode my bike today with 2 spacers and it is perfect, still will not dive under heavy braking, cornering and handling were great and the rebound was much softer, I'm running the lowered monotube cartridge kit with the 1 longer spring for the 1" lower application and 2 spacers instead of the recommended 3
