Default Sturgis help....

If anyone would like to help us out that would be great. My wife and I have never been to Sturgis and are thinking of going this year. We know it's late as far as motels but are thinking of camping. Anyone who's been and would like to suggest a campground that's not too wild (but not too tame either...lol) and is safe please give us some advice. Is there an area where some of the brothers and sisters on here meet up when at Sturgis. That would be great also. We would like for our first time to have someone to go with but none of our riding friends can get away.

Default Sturgis

When we camped we always stayed at Glencoe. It was a lot of fun and a lot to do there at nite. It can get a little wild. You might check out www.sturgis.com there is a lot of info on there about places to stay. Have a great time it is beautiful out there.

You can try Mountain View Campground, it's in Sundance WY about 50 miles from Sturgis, that's where we are staying. You might find it hard getting a place any closer at this time.

We have stayed at the Hog Heaven campground the past two years. They have clean, hot showers and great reasonable priced food. The place is the opposite of the chip as far as rowdiness, and if I remember gets pretty quiet around 11 or 12 at night. So you can get a good nights sleep. They have local bands that will play for a bit every night and you will meet some goods folks as well. Have a good trip and enjoy.

Fish 'N Fry Campground, Deadwood. It's a quite, clean place with showers and laundry facilities. http://www.fishnfry.com/

Glencoe(east of Sturgis) is nice as it actually has real shade trees and it rocks pretty good about every night to include concerts if you want(but you can get away from the noise too) if you've a mind and across the Hwy from Full Throttle, much better than the Chip. Elkview, Hog Heaven, Bull Dog all south of Sturgis not bad but not a lot of shade, Bull Dog probably has more but most like to pitch their tents there. Maybe you should try out a couple of em' to see what you think..
