As others have posted, I too got the same letter, which did not include any Touring-series bikes.

Don't think that Harley is doing too bad in my area; I haven't gotten any 50% discount coupons on shirts, clothing, bike accessories or service discounts. In fact, I haven't gotten any kind 'discount' offers on anything in the entire store.

I remember this from last year too.

Why do they even make a V-Rod anyway?

Talking Why do they make V Rods?

The V Rod in my opinion is what HD is going to have be like (liquid cooled) down the road. EPA will cause this to happen. By the way, I am buying a V Rod Muscle with 1% interest, it will cost me aprox. $400 in finance for term of the loan.

I got 1% on my RK last summer and I think my total finance charge for the bike was $300. Also got 20% off parts and labor for add ons at the time of purchase and I'm pretty happy with the deal

I was at my local dealer this week. I look at the V Rod next to the XR1200 and think....... PUT THAT LIQUID ENGINE IN THAT XR CHASSIS!!!!!!

Of all the STOOPID things.... that wonderful high HP engine, available only in that FUGLY V Rod with FORWARD EFFING CONTROLS!!!

OK, I feel better now.

1% is an awesome deal. The thing is you have to figure in what others have said, as far as the trade-in and total cost of the new bike. Believe me - the dealer is always making out and probably more when they throw the 1% carrot at you!
I paid 3.9% on my 07 ultra with $2000 of accessories thrown into the loan. That was in July of 07. They wanted it off the floor to make room for the 08's, and I got a good deal on the bike itself.
You may be better off dealing on a 10 rather then the 11's if you are the least bit interested.

As far as the clean book for trade offer, do not be mislead by that tactic. When a trade is involved, the ONLY thing that matters is the difference left between the trade and the new bike. Over allowing on a trade simply means that they wont discount the new bike from MSRP. They are not really giving you more money for the trade, they just will not discount the new bike from sticker as much.

They are not looking for used bikes in this economy as much as they need to move the 10 models. The floorplan on those bikes is costing them alot of money and they need to turn them before the 11 models come out.

The rule of thumb is you can deal wholesale for wholesale or retail for retail. If you expect to get retail for your trade, you are going to pay retail for the new bike. If you want a big discount on the new bike (invoice) you are going to get wholesale or auction value for the trade in.
The deal is, they buy your bike and you WALK away. NO trade is involved.
