Trip suggestions

Depending on when you are in the DFW area will depend on what you might want to do. The summer's here are HOT 95+ deg most days with 60+% humidity and I don't know what you would consider doing. Its been rainy lately but for about 3 weeks at the beginning of June we had 99-103 deg days every day and sticky.
Try a google search on "things to do in fort worth dallas" and there is a lot. Grassy knoll and JFK memorial are tops on most peoples list and they are easily reached from I20.
If you want a good motorcycle hangout that has good food then I would recommend Strokers (http://www.strokersdallas.com/) on Harry Hines, easy to get to from I20 also. Great folks, some nice custom bikes, an attached bar/restaurant and the foods pretty good.
If you like really good tex mex the place I would recommend Blue Mesa Grill on Northwest Highway. Oh man its good and reasonably priced, like $15 a plate + drinks.
If you can give me an idea of when, how long you are gonna be in the area and what you might want to do I can make some suggestions.

Plano is about an hour north of downtown Dallas. To get there you can take I20 then I675 headed north to I75 and get off anywhere in Plano. Honestly there is not a lot to see there. Its the standard "lots of restaurants, shops and homes and a few businesses" area that all of the cities outside of Dallas city limits proper are. I ride through there a few times a week and while there are a few areas with huge homes (and usually gated) and a mall or two or three there really isn't much to see. Did you have something specific in mind?

Ahhh I was bored and had run-at-the-mouth syndrome today lol. Sorry about that.
If I were you I would stay on I20 all the way through the DFW area. Head east another 20 miles or so until you get to Terrell. Its just a single exit but there are about 8 hotels there. I like Comfort Inns and there is one if you exit and go left. It's just on the other side of the highway.

Now we're talkin'. This is the kind of info I was looking for.
Coincidentally, I was stationed at NAS Memphis in the late 70's, and the day I shipped out to El Toro was the last time I was in Memphis. I had heard that is has become really crime-ridden. I'd like to see it again, but don't want to stay there.
How about the Plano, TX area near the Big D? Or would that be out of my way?
