Default GMR 107 Kit, 1st impressions

I had the kit within a week of ordering (beginning of May) it but with one thing after another coming up, it sat on the bench in the shop til I was tired of looking at it! Anyway, with the help of some "adult supervision" finally got it installed.

Wood TW7H cams (noise? What noise!), Wood lifters, SE clutch spring, SEAC, Rinehart TD's. All I can say is night and day difference from a stage 1 96"!
Steve sent me a startup map that's fairly close so I was able to get about 100 miles on it today. At Steves recomendation, ran Torco 40 wt. break in oil and changed it at about 60 miles, very few shavings. Haven't run it up over 4k rpm but it makes good power right on up; seems to get on the cams just under 3k and starts to pull like a train from that point, roll on power in 5th and 6th is fantastic I'm only about 60 miles from Doc's (HDMD Tunning Center) here in Florida so I've got access to IMO one of the best tuners around and I'll be spending the day there Friday getting it tuned.

I looked at most of the other kits available but after talking with Steve, decided to go with GMR. I found Steve to be very helpful, didn't try to sell me stuff I didn't need and whenever I called he answered the phone or got back to me in a timely manner; service second to none. Can't speak for anyone else but when I send a chunk of cash off, it's nice to be able to talk to some one about it!

I had quite a few "guesstimates" on the numbers it'll make but the bottom line is.... I don't care! Too much! Bike runs great and hopefully as it breaks in it'll only get better.

Sounds like a nice build. Steve has a great reputation for his service. And so does Doc for his tuning. i am predicting many happy miles.

If you think it runs well now just wait til Doc's finished. I think those 7's are a nice cam. Tell him Russel says hello.

You will be very pleased with the kit, I love mine.

I went with GMR for pretty much the same reason as you
