B/4 you settle on a New Bike, rather it be a FLH, or a FLT you need to check out,... roadglide.org... People over there no what a real touring bike is all about!

I've owned two street glides and two road glides and the first thing to go was the windshield. Of course my road glides both had taller stock windshields than the new shortys. But they still sucked just the same. Exhaust is a no brainer. And IMO the stock 08 road glide seat is one of the most comfortable stock seats Harley makes. You can use and 08 seat on '10 models too.

The RG is really growing on me, I like the frame mounted fairing, less feedback in the handlebars...Just registered over at RG.org

I will say that the Road Glide is a more sturdy ride without all the vibration you get from bikes with the fairing connected to the handle bars. My only issue was the opening up from the forks up and not being able to get use to the fairing not moving. But any Harley you are going to buy and ride. First, you junk the stock seat and find a windshield you are comfortable with(anyone ride without a windshield anymore).

Buying a Harley is just a down payment for the chrome.....

Went to the 2010 dark side two weeks ago and can't get enough ride time. Only 900 miles so far but WOW!!!!!

Never even bothered riding with stock seat (my SO screamed as soon as she saw it) so got a Sundowner two-up, sissy-bar & pad, and rack immediately. Oh... and yep - stock W/S is for looks only and doesn't work when the scoot is in gear. I've started off with a 16" Klock Werks Flair but thinking about about Clearview X-Large recurve (6'2", 34" inseam).

Not enough time to decide on which full exhaust system yet but did stick on the SE rebranded SuperTrapp (need some more disks), SE A/C, and did the download flash.

Damn - need more time and money (what's new?).

ETA: Hey neno62

Thumbs up

Try lowers - hogg chopps and a little taller sheild - clear veiw gt and you should be able to ride with a ball cap at 70 mph.

Queit exhuast - screamin eagle night stick and I cant remember if you add or subract disks. You can make it as loud as you want it.

Add 'em = a little louder HJP (gives some more holes that bypass the baffle)
